Saturday was part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the National Cathedral in Washington D.C.. It was a beautiful day, so we trekked over to Wisconsin Ave, found a parking space and a place to sit to watch the illumination of the cathedral. There was quite a crowd, musicians, and while the much anticipated event wasn't exactly what we expected.. it turned out pretty well in the camera. :-)
And as for Sunday - Happy Mother's Day to all you mom's out there!

The pictures make it look like a wonderful outing.It was a pretty day.
Sounds like a perfect day trip to me. What a beautiful building!
You can't really tell from the picture, but the one with the red ring has symbols from all the different world religions. I was impressed, although the light show wasn't as dazzling as I had hoped. It was fun to go though.
AM, just realized we missed a new one... Cathedral Gazer? :-)
Now off to see some older cathedrals in the not too distant future.
